The Most Coveted Spring 2016 Wedding Food Trends

The 2016 spring wedding season is an especially exciting time when it comes to the food served at your nuptials. Couples are really embracing foodie culture and serving up dishes in creative and inventive ways. It’s not uncommon these days to see food trucks, brunch menus, and tasting stations. According to The Knot, tall, majestic cakes are en vogue for spring and couples are opting for more daring flavors over the standard vanilla cake.

However, being adventurous with flavor isn’t the only way to stay on trend for the spring season. Another great way to make your reception memorable is by incorporating the Pantone colors of the year into your dessert selection. As we mentioned previously, this is a landmark year because Pantone released not just one, but two colors of the year — Rose Quartz and Serenity. In addition to looking dynamite in bridesmaid dresses, wedding invitations, and floral arrangements, this playful and bold palette looks absolutely divine as the frosting for a pastry or wedding cake. Rose Quartz, a playful and subtle pink was tailor made for cake frosting, a refreshing rosé, or if you’re feeling adventurous, a more whimsical dessert, like cotton candy. Of course, using the pale blue Serenity in your dessert selection will really make a lasting impression.

It probably goes without saying that you don’t need to stop at the actual food when using this color scheme.  Why not tie it all together by incorporating these show-stopping hues into the place settings, napkins, plates, and table clothes?

There’s really no limit to what you can do with colors that are this complementary, so don’t be afraid to get a little experimental.
