Regular Comedy at 1875 Bar

Regular Comedy is a standup series that features the most important working NYC comedians in historically distinguished and rarely accessible spaces throughout the city. Its current home in the 1875 Bar at Weylin is rapidly gaining a reputation among comedians and shows’ regulars as the best new stand-up venue in the city. With its low ceilings, the venue’s impeccably restored architectural design flourishes and fixtures, and with its underground, speakeasy vibe it is the perfect venue to enjoy Regular Comedy regularly.

Among the comedians that have performed at our series are:

Mark Normand – Conan, Comedy Central Hour Special

Chris Gethard – Colbert, Seth Meyers, HBO

Michelle Wolf – Daily Show, Seth Meyers, HBO

Aparna Nancherla – Conan

Sean Patton – Conan

Drew Michael – SNL, Comedy Central Half Hour Special

Anthony DeVito – Colbert

Shane Torres – Conan, Comedy Central Half Hour Special

Emmy Blotnick – Comedy Central

Langston Kerman – HBO

At 1875 Bar, we are proud to host this brand new  “Regular Comedy” program. Stand-up comedy is rooted in Classical Greece (400 BCE), based on a figure of speech called “Parrhasia”, which translated into English means “free speech”. Many people who haven’t been in touch with this powerful genre of comedy don’t know about its roots and core. In a time where a lot of the media and communication that surrounds us seem to have lost certain credibility, we honor the ancient roots of the Greek philosophy in the search of freedom and humor, and believe that there is no better place for this than our beautiful, and actually Greek-revival style, Weylin.

You can get the tickets for the next show on May 2nd; with hosts Tim DillonJoel Kim BoosterBrendan Eyre and Dan St. Germain at
