Did you know that there’s a special holiday set aside just for getting engaged to your loved one? It’s true! This year, Proposal Day Weekend commenced on March 18 and lasted throughout the three-day weekend, culminating on March 20, which is the actual National Proposal Day.
As you can imagine, it’s a holiday that’s near and dear to our hearts here at Weylin B. Seymour’s. We’ve had the honor of celebrating with countless couples as they exchanged vows in our space, and that all starts at the same place; with one person courageously asking the other to be eternal partners in both love and life. We have a special fondness for this holiday because the proposal is usually when the dream of the wedding begins, and we’re the ones who get to help make that dream come true.
It’s no accident that National Proposal Day falls on the Vernal Equinox. The fact that the day and night are equal lengths serves to symbolize “the equal efforts of the two required to comprise the successful marriage.”
Sure, proposing to a loved one and asking them to start a new life with you is an unforgettable, intimate act. And it’s a memory most couples cherish for the rest of their lives Still, it’s nice to have a nice, long romantic weekend set aside just for acknowledging what is usually the first step in a new and exciting lifelong journey.
We hope you all had a Happy Proposal Day Weekend!
